NOAH Water Solutions was founded in 2014 following the acquisition of a Finnish electroflotation patent. What started as a promising technology became the foundation for more than a decade of research, development and real-world testing.

Origin story

More than a decade of learning, 
refining and focusing

In the early years, the focus was on some of the most challenging wastewater streams, including industrial wastewater and highly contaminated effluents such as manure. Working across these demanding applications gave the NOAH team a deep understanding of electrochemical treatment. Over time, we learned not only what the technology could do, but where it could create the greatest impact.

That journey led to an important realization: the true strength of electrochemistry lies in decentralized wastewater treatment. Its ability to operate without biological processes, respond to variable conditions and enable water reuse makes it uniquely suited for the sanitation challenges of the future.

Driven by both technological potential and a desire to create meaningful impact, founder Rik Van Meirhaeghe and the NOAH team increasingly focused on one question:

How can we make water treatment available wherever water is used, and how can we reuse that water instead of wasting it?

Today, that question continues to guide everything we do.

NOAH is developing a technology platform that enables the next generation of decentralized sanitation solutions, helping industrial partners bring water treatment closer to the point of use and creating new opportunities for water reuse.

Because we believe the future of sanitation is not just about treating wastewater.

It is about closing the water loop.
